DiaSpect Medical AB was founded 2005 in Uppsala, Sweden, for development of hemoglobin related In Vitro Diagnostic Devices. Today DiaSpect is a group of limited companies; DiaSpect Medical GmbH is the ISO certified production and distribution center in Sailauf, Germany. DiaSpect Medical LLC is the USA based distribution centre.
Share holders are investment companies, suppliers and private investors including the founders.
The management team has together more than 40 years of experience in development, production, quality management and marketing of point of care hemoglobin systems.
The first product is a system for quick anemia screening by measurement of total hemogobin in a drop of unaltered whole blood. The system consists of an analyzer, DiaSpect Hemoglobin, and disposables, DiaSpect Hb cuvettes.
No chemical reagents are used. The absence of dry reagents makes the cuvettes durable and unaffected by moisture and temperature in different climates. This also minimizes the measurement time, which makes DiaSpect the fastest Hb measurement on the market. DiaSpect Hb system is distributed in a number of countries in Europe and Asia.
Direct photometric measurement of unaltered whole blood requires compensation for light scattering from the blood cells. DiaSpect has a patented technique for elimination of scattering.
We are currently working on a number of other IVDD tests based on the DiaSpect platform.
